The result is a faculty with diverse interests and areas of specialization, a curriculum that is comprehensive and in-depth, and hands-on sessions with patient models that utilize a variety of TCD and imaging systems. Jointly sponsored by the Swedish Medical Center and Pacific Vascular, Inc., this comprehensive course utilizes the educational strengths of these two organizations, bolstered by the clinical expertise of the renowned Swedish Neuroscience Institute. Covered applications include: TCD in patients with extracranial occlusive disease, functional vasomotor reactivity testing, monitoring during carotid stenting and endarterectomy, diagnosis of intracranial stenosis and acute intracranial occlusion, diagnosis of vasospasm secondary to subarachnoid hemorrhage, evaluation of stroke risk in pediatric patients with Sickle Cell Disease, evaluation of patients suspected of cerebral circulatory arrest, detection and grading of patent foramen ovale, and more.
